چکیده
This literature review offers a detailed description of the genes and proteins involved in pathophysiological processes isolated retinitis pigmentosa (RP). To date, 84 7 candidate have been described for non-syndromic RP. Each these encodes protein that plays role vital retina / or retinal pigment epithelium, including cascade phototransduction (transmission visual signal), cycle, ciliary transport, environment photoreceptor cilia interphotoreceptor matrix. The identification study pathways affected RP is important understanding main pathogenic ways developing approaches to target treatment.

15 صفحه اولRetinitis pigmentosa: visual function and multidisciplinary management.
Retinitis pigmentosa (RP) is a leading cause of blindness and visual disability in younger people. Optometrists have a major role in detecting RP and in reducing the visual disability associated with RP. This review summarises the literature relating to visual function in people with RP, with particular attention given to night-blindness, visual acuity decrease and visual field contraction. The...

There has been no report about hereditary and clinical features of retinitis pigmentosa (RP) in Koreans. To evaluate these, data were collected from 365 RP patients including age, gender, visual acuity (VA), spherical equivalent (SE) of refractive errors, funduscopic findings, color vision test, visual field score (VFS) obtained from Goldmann perimetry, and the inheritance patterns from pedigre...
متن کاملThe effects of acetazolamide on visual function in retinitis pigmentosa.
PURPOSE To study the effects of acetazolamide on central and peripheral visual function in patients with retinitis pigmentosa (RP) who showed no evidence of macular edema. METHODS Thirteen patients with retinitis pigmentosa participated in a preliminary study. Measures of central and peripheral visual function were obtained before and after an 8 wk period on acetazolamide. An additional 10 pa...

It is sometimes helpful to investigate the etiology of lesions of the visual path centripetally, starting at the periphery. This ap proach enabled Carr and Ripps to show that Oguchi's disease cannot be due to a failure in visual pigment kinetics, and Carr and as sociateshave similarly established that le sions causing congenital nyctalopia are situ ated on the central side of the receptor o...
